When is the best time to prune my trees?
The best time to prune trees is in the fall after the leaves have dropped off which is usually around late October to late November.
Dead wood or hazardous limbs may be removed at any time.
Live Oaks and Red Oaks should be NOT be pruned from February 1 to June I due to the threat of Oak Wilt. For more information on Oak Wilt go to Texas Cooperative Extension web page on Oak Wilt Information or call 512-473-3517.
