Maintenance
A planting group must maintain the trees in the following ways:
water the trees deeply once or twice per week during the months of April through October, and biweekly during the months of November through March until the trees are established; mulch the trees with a two inch layer at the time of planting and every spring and fall thereafter for the duration of the maintenance period;
fertilize if signs of nutrient deficiency appear; provide a bark guard around each tree trunk at time of planting.
