Dallas Animal Services

Family Volunteering

Parents and legal guardians of children under the age of 18 may  volunteer with Dallas Animal Services. Given the minor's age, engagement in the volunteer process is limited and they must be accompanied and supervised by parents/legal guardians at all times.

Family Volunteers

Parents and legal guardians of minor children (ages 10-17) excited about volunteering with shelter animals are welcome to volunteer as a family unit. Family  unit volunteers will follow the same processes as ongoing DAS volunteers.

Families Reading to Pets

An extension of our Kids Reading to Pets program, we offer familes the opportunity to sit and read to our shelter dogs and cats Friday-Monday. Each family will be required to bring with them a donation of an unopened box of dog treats before they partake in Families Reading to Pets. Schedule your family to read to our shelter animals at the main adoption location by clicking here. Schedule reading at our Everday Adoption Center by clicking here
