What type of identification is needed to attend the City of Dallas auctions?

All persons interested in participating in the City of Dallas auctions must be 18 years of age with a valid State photo identification to register.

What type of payments does the City accept for items purchased at the auctions?

The City of Dallas Auto Pound accepts checks and cash. All checks must be accompanied by a Letter of Guarantee. Cash, MasterCard, Visa, Discover, Cashier's Check, Money Orders and Wire Transfers are accepted methods of payment with online auctions. The City Store accepts cash, Visa, MasterCard and American Express.

When and where are the City of Dallas Miscellaneous (City surplus and unclaimed confiscated property and bicycles) Auctions held?

When and where are the City of Dallas Fleet & Heavy Equipment and Salvage Auctions held?

The City of Dallas Fleet & Heavy Equipment and Salvage Auctions are held at least three times a year. Auctions are scheduled when an adequate quantity of property becomes available for sale. Fleet & Heavy Equipment and Salvage Auctions are normally held online by Lone Star Auctioneers, Inc.. Property for this auction may be inspected on the Friday before the close of the auction date from 7:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M., or as advertised on the online listing. Citizens who wish to participate in online and live auctions should register with the City's auctioneer, Lone Star Auctioneers, Inc. at metro (817) 429-3336. Live auctions are normally held at 8200 W Jefferson Blvd, Dallas, Texas 75211.

Auto Auctions

When and where is the City of Dallas Auto Auction held?

The Dallas Auto Pound auction is held on alternating Mondays at 10:00 A.M. When Monday is a holiday, the auction is held the next business day (Tuesday) starting at 10:00 A.M. Registration is from 8:30 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. the day of the auction and autos may be inspected beginning at 9:30 A.M. The City of Dallas holds auto auctions at the Dallas Police Department Auto Pound located at 1955 Vilbig Dallas, TX 75208.

Is a description (make, model, year, etc.) of the autos scheduled for sell at the Monday auctions published in the newspaper?

An advertisement of the number of vehicles to be auctioned and location is published on Friday, Saturday and Sunday in the Classified Section of the Dallas Morning News. This information is published 2 weeks in advance of the scheduled auction date. Vehicle descriptions (make, model, year, etc.) are provided on the City's auctioneer website.

Is there a registration fee charged to attend the City of Dallas Auto Auction?

No, there is no registration fee charged to attend the auction.
