GREEN BUSINESS SPOTLIGHT: Bank of America Plaza has been recognized as the first ever Platinum Certified Green Businesses in Dallas.  BANK OF AMERICA PLAZA: To reach Dallas’ highest level of green business recognition, Bank of America Plaza documented and earned high marks in the following areas: leadership and policy, waste reduction, energy efficiency, water conservation, transportation, and—perhaps most important—education.

WHAT IS GREEN BUSINESS:

The City of Dallas Green Business Certification is a free service offered to businesses to assist them in “going green”. The Green Business Certification program recognizes businesses that prevents waste, incorporates recycling, and promotes reuse, reduce, and composting in their business operations. Any business who supports sustainability efforts can be recognized through the Green Business program.

​HOW TO APPLY:​ 1.   Contact the City of Dallas Zero Waste team by EMAIL or by phone at         214-670-4475 with any questions on the Green Business program.  2.   Review the Green Business SCORECARD to go over the categories and      submit completed form to the Dallas Zero Waste team.

WHO CAN APPLY:

Any business in Dallas that incorporates green practices and conserves resources can apply to become "Green Business Certified". These types of businesses include: Multifamily Properties, Hotels, Manufacturing Companies, Distribution Centers, Warehouses, Restaurants & Bars, Barbershops, Office Buildings, Data Centers, Hospitals, and other businesses.

BENEFITS OF BECOMING CERTIFIED:

Being a Green Business is smart for business. There are also some great benefits to becoming Green Business Certified and the best benefit is that it’s a free service. Businesses, who earn a Green Business Certification will save money, assist in protecting our environment and have their business recognized for its efforts in a variety of ways.
