Biography: Councilmember Ron Natinsky
Ron grew up in Dallas, graduated from Hillcrest High School and attended North Texas State University (now the University of North Texas).
Ron started his business career with his first business venture in 1967 and since then has used his entrepreneurial spirit to start seven successful businesses over the course of the last 37 years. His business ventures are wide ranging and include years of international experience in Asia, Europe and South America.
Ron has served as a speaker at conventions and business meetings and has published numerous articles concerning technology and business management. He is a member of the North Dallas Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Dallas Planning Council along with other business, civic, and volunteer organizations. Ron has also served as president of his homeowners association and as president of several business organizations.
Ron has served the City of Dallas on a long list of Boards and Commissions during the last 25 years -License and Permit Appeal Board, Sign and Billboard Task Force, Cable TV Board, President of Cable Access TV Board, Planning Policy Papers Committee, Vice Chair of the Police Review Board, Mayor’s Neighborhood Advisory Committee, Urban Design Task Force and the Chair of the Board of Adjustment. He has also served on the Resolutions Committee for the Texas Municipal League and the ITC Committee for the National League of Cities.
As District 12 Councilmember for the City of Dallas, Ron serves as Chair of the Council’s Economic Development and International Committee. He is also a member of the Council’s Budget, Finance and Audit; Legislative; Public Safety; and Transportation and Environment Committees. Ron is also on the Transportation and Infrastructure Steering and Planning Committee for the National League of Cities. He also represents the City of Dallas as Vice Chairman of the Regional Transportation Council (RTC) and is a member of the Executive Committee of the Dallas Regional Mobility Coalition (DRMC). Ron also serves on the Management Committee for Vision North Texas and on the Board of Directors for the Dallas Convention and Visitors Bureau (DCVB).
Ron has been married to his wife, Nancy, for 40 years. They have 2 adult married sons and two adorable puppies. He found time during his busy business career to enjoy scuba diving, white water rafting, antiquing, lots of traveling and building a garden railroad in his backyard. After 37 years of being a workaholic, Ron retired 5 years ago to try taking it easy; but instead found himself in a new full-time job, that of serving the City of Dallas as the District 12 Councilmember. He is now serving his third term on the City Council after being re-elected with 100% of the vote as he ran un-opposed.
