The Meyerson Symphony Center opened in 1989.  Designed by I.M.Pei, and with Russell Johnson serving as the hall's acoustician and major theatrical consultant, it has won acclaim for its design and praise for its acoustics.  The "Mort" hosts the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, and houses the Herman W. and Amelia H. Lay Family Concert Organ.
