Yzalida Hiley joined the Office of the City Auditor in July 2017 and has since worked on special and follow-up audits that include: former city officials and aquatics. Ms. Hiley has over nine years of local, state and federal government compliance monitoring and two years of experience in fraud, waste and abuse investigations.
Prior to joining the Office of the City Auditor, Ms. Hiley worked as an Auditor III, managing and evaluating agreements in compliance with federal and state policies and procedures regarding programs administered by the Food and Nutrition Division, at the Texas Department of Agriculture. She has a diverse background in auditing which includes: experience in quality control of client files to ensure documentation of clients' compliance and performance aligned with legal requirements; and additional experience in the military, healthcare, and bankruptcy industries.
A Louisiana native and US Army veteran, Ms. Hiley attended University of Louisiana at Monroe, Central Texas College, and, American Intercontinental University respectively. She has a Bachelor's in Criminal Justice and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Organizational Psychology and Development. Ms. Hiley is presently in pursuit of her Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) designation.
