​The Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Center

The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Center was opened in 1971 and is a part of the City of Dallas Office of Community Care. Located in the South Dallas/Fair Park area, the MLK Center serves as a hub of community programming and activity that strives to connect residents to education, workforce development, financial empowerment, and health and wellness programming and services.

The MLK, Jr. Community Center is home to social service programs, such as housing and rental assistance, jobs skills training and employment support, client referral services, and more. 

Additionally, the MLK, Jr. Community Center houses numerous nonprofit and social service agencies, each of which providing valuable community services. 

The Center sits on 10.5 acres and is comprised of five buildings, including the C​ore Building, the MLK, Jr. Recreation Center, the MLK, Jr. Branch Library, ChildCareGroup, and the Foremost Family Health Center.

Collectively, the MLK Center’s programming and partners offer a comprehensive package of services for community members.​
