Court & Detention Services


You have 21 days from when the citation was issued to appear. You may make your appearance online, by mail, by telephone, and in person. Live Chat and email do not satisfy an appearance. If you fail to make your appearance within the 21 days, you are subject to added fines, fees, and possible warrants for your arrest. Civil citations have 31 days to appear. If you are unsure which type of citation you received, you can contact the Court before the 21 days expires to verify.

To plead guilty or no contest and pay the citation(s) without going to court, your options include:

Walk-In Court (Proof or Plea):


To appear in walk-in court, you must plead guilty or no contest.

  • Dismissal (compliance) proof;

    • Expired driver's license;

    • Show proof of financial responsibility (car insurance);

    • Expired vehicle registration (Show proof of payment of late registration fee to county assessor-collector); 

    • Vehicle defective equipment;

  • Request community service or work release; 

  • Request payments for deferred disposition (probation); 

  • Submit time served proof.

Walk-in court (proof or plea) is open and accessible to the public as a first come first served docket. Sign-in begins at 7:30 a.m. and court opens at 8:30 a.m. There is a limited number of people that can be scheduled per docket. Once the morning docket is full, you can wait on the 1:00 p.m. docket or come back another day.  Once the afternoon docket is full, you can return another business day to sign up for the walk-in court (proof or plea).

Plead Not Guilty:


If you plead not guilty, your options include:

  • Post a cash bond, to receive a court date;

    • The amount of the citation is also the amount of the cash bond;
    • The defendant must be in-person at the Court.
  • Hire an attorney;

    • If you have hired an attorney to represent your case(s), the Court will communicate all matters through the attorney;

    • Contact the attorney's office for advisement or status of your citation(s).
