Red Light (Safelight) Camera Violation


Within 30 calendar days from the mail date on the Red Light (Safelight) violation, you must either pay the applicable fine OR contest the Red Light (Safelight) violation. 


Failure to pay the civil fine or contest liability within thirty (30) calendar days from the mail date is an admission of liability in the full amount of the civil fine is assessed and will result in an additional late fee penalty of $25.00 and waives the right to appeal a hearing. In addition, you may be subject to formal collection proceedings, including, but not limited to, a civil lawsuit and a hold on your vehicle's registration with the Department of Transportation or County Tax Assessor.

Contest a Red Light Camera Violation:


Only the registered owner of the vehicle can request to contest a violation. Each violation has an administrative hearing date printed on it. It is located below the violation information. Prior to the close of business on this date, you may contest your violation. 

  

You may contact the Adjudication Office at 214-670-4830, between 8:15 a.m. and 5:15 p.m., Monday through Friday to obtain additional information concerning your Red Light (Safelight) camera violation. 

 


Red Light (Safelight) Camera Appeal Process:


You may request to appeal in person at:

If you are not satisfied with the results of your adjudication hearing, the registered owner of the vehicle may appeal in person to the Dallas Municipal Court before the 31st calendar day after the date the hearing officer's order is issued (file date on the hearing record).

 

Forms that are required by the City of Dallas Red Light Ordinance to file an appeal:

    • A petition to appeal form, (Click Here) (1 Page);

    • A notarized Statement of Personal Financial Obligation form, (Click Here) (2 pages) and;

    • A $15.00 filing fee (*refundable only if the hearing officer's order is reversed). 

Forms that are not required, but is strongly encouraged to bring to help ensure a timely process:  

    • Copy of the violation;  

    • Copy of the hearing record.  

 

Parking Violation


Within 15 calendar days after the date of a parking violation, you must either pay the applicable fine OR contest the parking violation.


Failure to remit payment or to appear for a hearing within fifteen (15) days is an admission of liability for the parking violation charge and will result in the assessment of a fine, additional penalties or cost, and may further result in the vehicle bearing the license plate to being towed, impounded and or immobilized.


 


Check for Outstanding Parking Violation:


Search online for ticket information at dallasparkingtickets.com.  Search by the ticket number, the notice number, authorized installment payment plan (IPP) or license plate number. For assistance, call the Customer Service Center, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. through 5:15 p.m., at toll-free 1-866-247-1951 and give the license plate number of your vehicle.

 

If your ticket does not exist in the payment system and it was recently issued, it may not be entered into the parking database. Please check back in 1-2 days, if the ticket still cannot be found, please call the Customer Service Center at toll-free 1-866-247-1951.
