You have 21 days from when the citation was issued to appear. You may make your appearance online, by mail, by telephone, and in person.   Live Chat and email, do not satisfy an appearance.  If you fail to make your appearance within the 21 days, you are subject to added fines, fees, and possible warrants for your arrest.

For all request done by mail:

 

Do not send cash by mail. Send only a check, cashier's check or money order made payable to the "City of Dallas" through the mail. To ensure the correct citation is credited, print the citation number on the check or money order.

 

The Court uses the postmark date on the letter (stamped by the postal service) as the received date.  Mailing certified is recommended but is not required.

Driving Safety Course (DSC)

Driving Safety Course Notarized Affidavit (DSC)


You will receive this affidavit with the approval paperwork from the Court. If you lose the paperwork and need another, you may print this off. Do not have this form notarized before the Court has granted you DSC.

Once you have been approved by the Court, you may go here to review how to get a driving record. Do not request the driving record before the Court has granted you DSC.

The Municipal Court does not have access to arrest reports, accident reports, driving records, and police records.

Contact Verification Form


You may update your contact information by mail and in-person with picture identification.   Live Chat, phone and, email are not valid options.

 

Notify the Court in writing of any changes within ten (10) days of the change. If you do not provide an updated form, the assumed information is what is on the citation. Please write clearly to ensure that we update the correct information.

Show Cause Hearing Waiver


Show Cause Hearing Waiver Request Form


You may waive your right to the show cause hearing by signing the show cause hearing waiver. The waiver can be submitted by mail or in-person, as long as it is before the show cause hearing date. Any balance owed must be paid at the time the waiver is submitted.
