​The Court and Detention Services Department is the Official Clerk of the Court of Record.


The department is responsible for overseeing: Municipal Court administrative and clerical functions, the Dallas Marshal’s Office, the City Detention Center, and the incarceration of City of Dallas prisoners at the Dallas County Lew Sterrett Justice Center Facility.

You have 21 days (criminal) or 31 days (civil) from when the citation was issued to resolve your citation.
You may resolve online, by mail, by telephone, and in-person. Live Chat and email do not satisfy an appearance. If you fail to resolve within the 21 days (criminal) or 31 days (civil), you are subject to added fines, fees, and possible warrants for your arrest.
