About TRP:

TRP is intended to preserve and improve residential properties that meet qualifying criteria focused on issues unique to the place, property condition, owner, or other targeted element.


  • West Dallas TRP:  Provides assistance to homeowners in West Dallas who have home improvement needs but are financially unable to address them. The program focuses on improvements to the primary structure with a focus on exterior elements of the home.

    • Assistance: Up to $10,000
    • Terms: Grant - 5 year affordability period, deed restrictions
    • Goal: 200 home repairs

  • Tenth Street Historic District TRP:  Provides assistance to homeowners in the Tenth Street Historic District who have home improvement needs but are financially unable to address them. The program focuses on exterior structural home improvement assistance.

    • Terms: Grant - 5 year affordability period, deed restrictions
    • Goal: 35 home repairs

The Department of Housing & Neighborhood Revitalization presented an overview of the preservation programs to the Housing and Homlessness Solutions Committee on April 26, 2021. To learn more about the TRP, Home Improvement & Preservation Program (HIPP), and Healthy Homes Lead Reduction (HHLR) please watch the video below, or view the full HHS Council Committee meeting on the Dallas City News Network. On September 9, 2021, amendments to TRP were approved and Dallas City Council adopted the current Comprehensive Housing Policy.

Eligibility Requirements:

West Dallas TRP:

For information on Eligibility Requirements please download the program information in English or in Spanish. 

  • Live in following census tracts - 43, 101.01, 101.02, 205, 105, 106.01, 106.02
  • Must be under 80% AMI
  • Primary residence
  • Clear title
  • Current on taxes and mortgage

 


Tenth Street Historic District TRP:

For information on Eligibility Requirements please download the program information in English or in Spanish.

  • Homeowners in the Historic District as defined by Ordinance #22852
  • Must be under 80% AMI
  • Primary residence
  • Clear title / affidavit of heirship
  • Current on taxes and mortgage

Required Supporting Information:

All applicants will need the following supporting items to accompany their complete application.  

  • Application form fully filled-out and submitted
  • Property Deed or/and Affidavit of Heirship   
  • Copy of Current Mortgage Statement (if you have a mortgage)    
  • Homeowner's Insurance    
  • Copy of (1) month current checking/savings bank statements  ALL pages included   
  • All applicable Income-Paystubs or other:      
  • One (1) month of most recent paycheck stubs (all wage earners)   
  • Current Social Security and/or Supplemental Security Income     
  • Annuity/Pension    
  • Unemployment: Statement of Potential Benefit and Wages   
  • Court-ordered child support statement (if applicable)    
  • Additional information   
    • Birth certificate or affidavit of birth of all minor children (and permanent resident card or Certificate of Naturalization, if applicable)
    • Divorce decree or death certificate (if applicable)
    • School Registration (for children attending college)
