Biography

Alma D. Perez is a first-generation Mexican American and accomplished community engagement professional with over a decade of service dedicated to fostering relationships, advocacy, and resource accessibility in the Dallas community. Raised in West Dallas, Alma holds a Bachelor of Applied Arts & Sciences from the University of North Texas and an Associate of Arts in Teaching from Brookhaven College.

Alma's career spans several impactful roles, including her recent tenure as a Community Outreach Representative with the Dallas Police Department's Office of Community Affairs. In this role, she designed and executed community education and safety events, developed innovative outreach programs such as the "Inspired Moms" initiative for at-risk families, and maintained bilingual social media platforms to enhance community connectivity. Her innovative leadership earned her recognition as the Friends of the Dallas Police Department Non-Sworn Employee of the Year (2023).

Previously, Alma served as a Youth First Offender Program Caseworker, where she guided young individuals toward rehabilitation and personal growth. Her deep commitment to public service is further exemplified by her work as a Disease Intervention Specialist with the Texas Department of Health and Human Services and as an Adult Protective Services Specialist.

As Senior Outreach Specialist for the Office of Community Police Oversight, Alma brings a balance of compassion and command presence that has earned her praise from colleagues and community leaders alike. With a steadfast dedication to uplifting underserved communities and fostering trust, she is poised to make a profound impact in her new role.
