Budgeting for Equity (BfE) Investments

In 2020, the City of Dallas was identified as 1 in 4 government entities implementing Budgeting for Equity (BfE) on an annual basis. In collaboration with the Budget and Management Services department, BfE is a process to support all City departments in developing an understanding of equity frameworks in budget decisions. The BfE process is designed to assess and document department efforts to advance equity. In Fiscal Year 2022-2023 Dallas allocated $22.5 million dollars towards equity related endeavors.

One-time Investments

The Fiscal Year 2022-2023 budget includes $20 million dollars of one-time excess revenue allocated towards projects that align with the REP. The additional investments will support the City in activating the REP and aligns with the Plans Big Audacious Goals, and Department Progress Measures to address disparities.
