Affirmative Fair Housing Marketing Plan

DCH Body
Page Content
The Affirmative Fair Housing Marketing (AFHM) Plan is an intentional plan designed with a marketing strategy or approach to attract renters and/or buyers that would be least likely to apply to multi- family or single-family developments receiving city assistance. The City of Dallas requires that all recipients and sub-recipients of various city-assisted funding programs, for all projects resulting in five (5) or more assisted housing units, implement affirmative marking approaches as part of the overall marketing strategy. To market affirmatively means that a good faith effort is made to attract to a project those minority or majority groups who are least likely to apply or are underrepresented in a neighborhood or community where the project is located.  Good faith efforts are recorded activities and documented outreach to those individuals identified as least likely to apply. Affirmative marketing requirements apply to all housing programs, including, but not limited to Tenant- Based Rental Assistance and Down Payment Assistance Programs. View the complete: City of Dallas Affirmative Fair Housing Marketing Policy (Appendix 7 - page 95)
