​On May 28, 2024, the City of Dallas was impacted by severe storms with large hail and high winds that resulted in widespread, extended power outages. This page is dedicated to resources and information regarding City of Dallas and partner response and recovery efforts.

FEMA Individual Assistance

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has approved the addition of Dallas County to the Presidential Disaster Declaration for May's storms.  City of Dallas residents who live in Dallas, Collin and Denton counties who were impacted by the severe weather are eligible for FEMA Individual Assistance. The program provides financial and direct services to eligible individuals and households affected by a disaster, who have uninsured or underinsured necessary expenses and serious needs. 


To apply, homeowners and renters can:


  • Go online to disasterassistance.gov
  • Download the FEMA app for mobile devices
  • Call the FEMA helpline at 800-621-3362 between 6:00 AM and 10:00 PM. Help is available in most languages.

On June 1 and June 2, the City of Dallas, in partnership with Dallas Independent School District, sponsored a Multi-Agency Resource Center (MARC) to provide essential recovery services from governmental and nongovernmental agencies to residents impacted by the severe weather. Thank you to all of our partners who served our community and made the MARC successful:

Individual State of Texas Assessment Tool (iSTAT)

Residents who were affected by the recent storms are encouraged to complete the iSTAT Damage Assessment survey.  

Emergency Management officials will use information gathered through this survey to guide recovery efforts.
