DCH Body

Updated 8/2/2024

Sanitation has collected over 500,000 cubic yards of storm debris since the May 28 windstorm. Crews are now collecting all remaining storm debris along with regular brush and bulky items according to the normal collection schedule (find your schedule here). For the month of August, there is a temporary increase in the limit for brush and bulky items to 30 cubic yards per household.

Your continued cooperation with the guidelines below will assist us with timely collection.

Residents may self-haul brush, bulky items, and other waste to the landfill or transfer station at no cost.

Debris Placement Guidelines

Set Out Regular Brush & Bulky Items The Weekend Before Your Normal Collection Week

Storm debris that has not been collected may remain at the curb.

Non-storm-related brush and bulky items should only be placed at the curb from the Thursday through Sunday before your regular collection week. Up to 30 cubic yards of regular brush and bulky items will be collected at no cost in August.

Avoid Obstructions

Avoid placing debris where it blocks sidewalks, driveways, or pedestrian pathways. Place debris just behind the curb, outside of travel lanes, away from drainage ditches, and from obstructions such as mailboxes, fences, sprinkler heads, fire hydrants and water/gas meters.

Do Not Block Collection Efforts

Keep all vehicles at least 20 feet away from storm-related debris piles between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. to allow for passage of equipment s to remove material.

Cut Large Branches

Cut large branches and limbs into manageable lengths, no longer than 10 feet and no wider than 12 inches in diameter. Crews may not be able to collect oversize debris.
