COVID-19 Update

SDC Engineering Division remains operational to serve the development community.  With the recent county order and to keep a safe and healthy environment for our customers and staff, the following procedures have been implemented to ensure continuous services, even in a remote operation scenario.

  • All existing hard copy reviews, revision to finals (RTFs) and are encouraged to be submitted via emailed PDF after resubmittal fee has been paid (4th submittal and beyond for W/WW, 3rd Submittal and beyond for D/P).
  • All new Engineering plans and W/WW service requests must be submitted electronically at the following link: https://plansubmittal.dallascityhall.com/ for processing. Credit card payments can be made online (American Express, Discover, Mastercard and Visa).
  • All Private Development Contract packages are to be submitted via email to Michael.Fay@DallasCityHall.com .
  • All Survey reviews (plat and field notes) are to be submitted via email (first submittal of W/WW related easements and agreements to go through W/WW reviewer; resubmittals directly to survey reviewer).
  • All meetings will be conducted via teleconferencing, Skype for business or your own teleconference platform(access link and phone number must be provided). Please email us to request a meeting with your available times.
  • All staff will be available by email every work day between the hours of 8:00am to 4:30pm.  Please allow 24-48 hours for responses.

We feel that this process will allow the greatest flexibility while adapting to working remotely.

Please feel free to email Sam Eskander at mina.eskander@dallascityhall.com or David Lam at david.lam@dallascityhall.com should you have any other operations related questions.  For project specific questions, please reach out to your assigned plan reviewer.

The Engineering Division is responsible for reviewing subdivision plats and private development engineering plans, and overseeing the construction to ensure that the City's infrastructure is built to City Code and adheres to approved plans and contract documents.

The Engineering Division is subdivided into two sections, Paving/Drainage Engineering and Water/Wastewater Engineering.  Each section requires a separate submittal/review of plats, plans, and construction administration.

The Office of Environmental Quality is now the responsible department for the Municipal Settings Designation.
