Stanley Marcus House
Built in 1938, the Stanley Marcus house is thought to be the first Modern style house constructed in Dallas. The owner, Stanley Marcus was president of the Dallas-based Neiman-Marcus department store. The original architect for the home was Frank Lloyd Wright, but he was fired by Mr. Marcus after running over budget. The final design is the work of Roscoe DeWitt, and is heavily influenced by the International style that was popular in Los Angeles at the time.
