Project Overview

The Dallas Department of Transportation and Public Works is studying a portion of the Lake June Road corridor in southeast Dallas.

The study will identify improvements that advance mobility and safety for all modes of transportation and prioritize those improvements for near-term and long-term completion. The study area includes Lake June Road between U.S. 175 and the Dallas city limits (near Cheyenne Road).

The project has three main phases: (1) assess existing conditions; (2) analyze alternative designs for the corridor; and (3) finalize recommended transportation improvements. The study is in its third phase.

Other Improvements

While the City works on long term plans for the future of Lake June Road, the city continues to work on near-term safety improvements.

For example, traffic signal upgrades are planned along the corridor, including the intersections at Gillette Street, Houghton Road, Hillburn Drive, Prichard Lane, Pleasant Drive, and North St. Augustine Drive;  and updated pavement markings are scheduled along the corridor.
