Project Overview

The Dallas Department of Transportation and Public Works (TPW) is studying the Malcolm X Boulevard corridor between Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard and Elsie Faye Heggins Street. The purpose of the study is to identify improvements that will advance mobility and safety for all modes of transportation along the corridor and will use community input to prioritize those improvements for near- and long-term completion.

The corridor is on the High Injury Network (HIN) in the
City of Dallas Vision Zero Action Plan. Implementing bike lanes on Malcolm X Boulevard was identified as a priority project in the Dallas Strategic Mobility Plan.

The study kicked off in early 2024 and is expected to take a year to complete.
