Automated Red Light Enforcement

The Automated Red Light Camera Enforcement program works to improve public safety through increased enforcement of red light laws and  increased public awareness of the dangers of red light running.

An Automated Red Light Camera Violation occurs when a vehicle enters the intersection after the light has turned red. Violations are captured by cameras in specific  intersections  designated for automated red light camera enforcement.  Violations are reviewed and issued by City of Dallas Traffic Enforcement officers. The citations are mailed to the registered owner of the vehicle.  An automated red light camera violation carries a civil penalty of $75.00 per violation. If not paid within 30 days from the date of issuance, a $25 penalty is assessed.
