Red Light Camera

The Red-Light Camera Program has been terminated effective June 1, 2019.

Governor Gregg Abbott signed House Bill 1631 into legislation prohibiting the use of red-light cameras in the State of Texas. Effective immediately the City of Dallas is no longer operating the Red-light Camera Program.

Effective August 30, 2019, the Dallas Department of Transportation will no longer collect or accept payments or process refunds for red light violations. Per state regulations, the program has been discontinued.
In certain circumstances, Scofflaw has not been updated and is holding vehicle registration. In those cases, the item will be directed to the adjudication office to cancel the hold by the court.

Vehicle Registration Hold (Scofflaw Hold)

If a vehicle has a registration hold (Scofflaw Hold) for failure to pay City of Dallas Safelight fines and/or late fees, the owner with delinquent Safelight citation(s) and related administrative fees cannot register their vehicle until all fines/fees are paid. To get the vehicle registration hold released, you will need a receipt to show proof of payment of the outstanding fines/fees.

Payments are accepted at Oak Cliff Municipal Center, 320 E. Jefferson Blvd, Room 100, Dallas, TX, 75203.  Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, closed on weekends and City holidays. Methods of payment accepted are cash, check, money order or credit card (MasterCard or Visa).
