Bicycle Facility Implementation Public Meetings

Public meetings were held on July 27, 2022 and August 11, 2022. The same information was shared at both meetings and the presentation can be viewed HERE.

The three projects that were discussed at the meetings are as follows:

Project 1:  Bike lanes on Zang Boulevard between Plowman Avenue and Beckley Avenue, sharrows (or shared roadway markings) on Eldorado Avenue between Beckley Avenue and Elsbeth Street, and sharrows on Elsbeth Street between Eldorado Avenue and 5th Street. The project would connect the existing bike lanes on Zang Boulevard to the existing bike lanes on N. Bishop Avenue via the existing sharrows on 5th Street.

Project 2:  Bike lanes on Akard Street between Young Street and Corinth Street, and bike lanes on Marilla Street between Young Street and Akard Street. The project would provide a bicycle and scooter connection between the Cedars and AT&T Discovery District.

Project 3:  Sharrows (or shared roadway markings) on Fisher Road between Abrams Road and W. Lawther Drive, on Kenwood Avenue between Greenville Avenue and Sperry Street, on Santa Barbara Drive between Fisher Road and Sperry Street, on Sperry Street between Kenwood Avenue and Santa Barbara Drive, and on Williamson Road between Sperry Street and W. Lawther Drive. This project would provide a bicycle connection for several neighborhoods located between US 75 and White Rock Lake to the White Rock Lake Trail, the SoPac Trail, and the bike lanes on Matilda Street.
