RESPONSIBILITIES 

Responsible for over 1,600 employees and a budget of $1.2B, Ms. Standifer is the chief executive of one of the largest water utilities in the nation. Dallas Water Utilities provides water, wastewater and stormwater services, including storm drainage and flood control services, to more than 2.6 million customers in Dallas and 27 surrounding cities. Ms. Standifer is also responsible for developing new water resources, continuing infrastructure upgrades throughout the community and building regional partnerships.

PROFILE 

Ms. Standifer has over 20 years of public service experience. During her tenure, Sarah has been responsible for both stormwater operations and business operations, which includes direct oversight of developing and managing an annual operating budget of approximately $800 million and capital financing of approximately $320 million for water and wastewater programs annually. Prior to joining Dallas Water Utilities, Sarah served as the Director of Trinity Watershed Management where she was responsible for the daily and emergency operations of approximately 267 positions with direct oversight of the management of stormwater utility revenue operations, major maintenance budgets, flood protection and stormwater drainage capital programs, and the Dallas Levee System program’s implementation. Ms. Standifer also serves as the Vice Chair of the State of Texas’ Trinity Regional Flood Board.
