​​ The award-winning Central Wastewater Treatment Plant (CWWTP) serves the northern and western areas of Dallas. It is one of two plants in the city's wastewater system, which includes over 4,000 miles of pipelines and provides treatment for approximately 1.4 million residents and 11 neighboring cities. Together, the two plants can treat up to 450 million gallons of wastewater daily.

The CWWTP has been in operation since 1915 and is recognized for consistently meeting all wastewater quality standards. Facility tours are available upon request.​​
