The Southside Wastewater Treatment Plant (SWWTP) has 39 operators licensed by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ). Standard treatment processes reduce the following amount of solids from the effluent:

• Solids - 99%
• Ammonia - 98%
• Carbonaceous and Biological Oxygen Demand - 98%

Maintenance Information 

The SWWTP has 16 electrical and electronic technicians on staff and receives a combined 33 KV of power supply from Oncor, Brazos and Ameresco. There are 28 mechanics and facility maintenance employees on staff who help maintain over 4,000 pieces of equipment that keep the plant running smoothly and efficiently.
