The Domestic Violence Task Force is made up of 40 plus members of various Dallas area agencies whose primary focus is the prevention and eradication of domestic violence and the support of victims.

About the Advisory Council

The Task Force’s current focus is on identifying potential lethality in domestic violence situations and ways to prevent lethality from occurring. The Task Force is also working to improve communication between the various departments on the taskforce.

  • Domestic Violence affects individuals in every community, regardless of age, economic status, sexual orientation, gender, race, religion or nationality. You are not alone; help is available.
  • It takes courage to ask for help when someone you love is hurting you. You are not alone; support is available.
  • Domestic Violence includes physical violence, sexual violence, psychological violence and emotional abuse. Violence in relationships is never ok. Speak with someone to understand the signs of abuse.

Family Violence Unit

The Prosecution Section prosecutes Class C misdemeanor family violence assault cases in the City of Dallas. Experienced victim advocates are available to explain the court process and to help victims and their families find additional resources.
