On June 3, 2015, the Dallas City Council voted to repeal Chapter 9C of the Dallas City Code (commonly known as the carryout bag ordinance).
Effective immediately, the City will no longer enforce this ordinance, which required businesses to register with the City to provide single use bags, specified types and specifications of bags that may be used, authorized a five-cent environmental fee for single-use carryout bags to customers, and specified signage requirements in parking lots and/or points of sale.
Business establishments must remit environmental fees collected up to publication date of the ordinance (June 5, 2015). Please use the form below to submit remittance.
