Community Clean Trash-Off Program
The Community Clean Trash-Off program is an interdepartmental collaboration between the Department of Code Compliance and Sanitation. Trash Off is an excellent opportunity for City of Dallas residents to clear out their garages and yards of bulk trash, brush, batteries, motor/cooking oil, and water-based paint.
Community Hand Tool Program
Keep Dallas Beautiful offers a Community Hand Tool Program which is designed to provide volunteer groups with equipment to mow grass, cut vegetation, and clean up litter in their neighborhood for weekend clean-up projects or other beautification events. This program serves all areas of the City of Dallas. Loaner equipment will be available at no cost, however, is it available on a first-come-first-serve basis. Equipment will include lawnmowers, string trimmers, hedgers, pole saws, rakes, brooms, and shovels.
Decorative Board -Up
Decorative Board-Up is a neighborhood intervention tool that improves on the traditional vacant property by adding aesthetic, artistic elements, landscaping maintenance, and durable, environmentally sustainable materials. This strategy has shown to be a powerful tool for neighborhood revitalization and economic development. It addresses the core challenges that many cities face today: how to attract new residents and business to a city challenged with large numbers of vacant and abandoned buildings.
Resident Code Academy
The Resident Code Academy is free and is an opportunity to learn about the functions and services of the Code Compliance Services. It's a wonderful way to learn more about common code violations, meet with staff, and learn best practices to become a good neighbor.

Beautiful Communities Project

In December 2020, the Office of Arts and Culture and the Department of Code Compliance embarked on a pilot program entitled, Beautiful Communities. The project's goal was to beautify our Dallas neighborhoods by decorating a 20'x7' roll-off container to be displayed in various areas of the city by way of Code's Community Clean events.
A call for artists was launched, and after an extensive panel review process, Nicholas Anderson was selected to be the first artist for this project. Nicholas is a Dallas-based artist whose vision for the roll-off container was to sketch and portray the many silhouettes of Dallas neighborhoods along with symbols that represent and unify our city. Nicholas believes "while someone might not be in the best conditions, [he] always finds that visual art can brighten [anyone's] outlook on a space".
The roll-off container project, once unveiled, will provide a moving art piece for all neighborhoods in Dallas to enjoy.
