Information:


For all requests done by mail:

Do not send cash by mail. Send only a check, cashier's check, or money order made payable to the "City of Dallas" through the mail. Print the citation number on the check or money order to ensure the correct citation is credited.


The Court uses the postmark date on the letter (stamped by the postal service) as the received date.  Mailing certified is recommended but is not required.


*** When you request by mail, please note this is a REQUEST ONLY.  The Court will provide a response by mail within 5-7 business days and will utilize the address listed on the Contact Information Form. (Some requests may take longer to process, 3-4 weeks.)***


All requests must include an Acceptable form of identification (Social Security cards and selfies (pictures) are NOT valid forms of identification).

Driving Record Request: If the Court has approved the DSC request, you may review how to get a driving record here. (Do not request the driving record before the Court has granted you DSC.) 


Common-Law Right of Access (Records Request):

The Municipal Court does not have access to arrest reports, accident reports, driving records, and police records.


Request for Court Records

Records of past or current citation(s), can be reviewed online. Once you enter the name and date of birth, click the details button. You can also use the citation number to pull it up.

 

If you need more information than is available online, fill out the above form. You can either mail it or bring it to the Court. Please write clearly to ensure that we provide the correct information. You may not request records by phone, email, fax, or live chat. Requests for paper records may have a cost associated with them. The request must include an acceptable form of identification. 

  • Acceptable form of identification (Social Security cards and selfies (pictures) are NOT valid forms of identification);

Copy fees: (Each side with recorded information is considered a page.)

  • $1 for the 1st page and $1 for each page after for certified records.

Expunction Eligibility:

You may be eligible for an expunction of a class C misdemeanor offense if:

  • You were given deferred disposition, completed the probation, and the case dismissed;

  • Your case was dismissed for another reason;

  • You were acquitted (found "Not Guilty") at trial;

  • Some cases will also require a specific waiting period to lapse before they are eligible for expunction;

  • You MUST file with the Dallas County District Court for expunctions on identity theft offenses.

If you feel your case qualifies for an expunction, you are strongly encouraged to consult an attorney about eligibility and the filing process.

Expunction Forms:

The following forms are provided for convenience only. They are not intended as a substitute for independent legal analysis by an attorney. Persons are strongly encouraged to consult an attorney with any questions regarding their eligibility for relief under Tex. Code Crim. Proc. Ann. art. 55.01.


What you need to request an expunction:

  •  Acceptable form of identification (Social Security cards and selfies (pictures) are NOT valid forms of identification);

  • 1 original Expunction petition;
  • Expunction order;
    • Original signature for an attorney (or pro-se) on the last page of the petition;
    • Verification page;
    • Original notary public stamp/seal on verification page;
    • Original signature of the petitioner, notary public, and attorney on verification page;
    • Current mailing address; 
    • Order granting expunction; and
    • Original proposed order only.

Juvenile expunctions - $30.00 fee (non-refundable & subject to change)


Adult expunctions - $100.00 fee (In some circumstances, this fee is refundable. Please check the statute or consult an attorney for refund eligibility. Subject to change)
