Cash Bond - Not In Jail:

The defendant must be in-person at the Court. The amount of the citation is also the amount of the cash bond. Check, credit card, and money orders are not allowed. You will receive a receipt and a copy of the bond, with the court date.


Cash Bond - In Jail:

**Cash bond(s) can be processed at the Dallas Marshal's Office 24 hours daily, seven (7) days a week including holidays if the defendant is in jail. ** The amount of the citation is also the amount of the cash bond.  Check, credit card, and money orders are not allowed. You will receive a receipt and a copy of the bond, with the court date. 


Bond(s) Posted at Another Jail:

If arrested at another city or county for City of Dallas Municipal Court warrants, you may have posted a bond(s) to be released. You have ten (10) days from the day you are released to come into the Court and request something up on the citation(s).

The arresting city will forward the monies to the City of Dallas Municipal Court. This process takes about 30 to 45 days.


Bond(s) Posted in Dallas for Another Jail:

If you were arrested by a City of Dallas Marshal or police officer for a warrant issued by another city or county, you might have posted bonds to be released.

 

The City of Dallas Municipal Court will forward the monies posted for the bond to the appropriate city or county. This process takes about 30 to 45 days.

 

You are required to contact the city or county where your citation(s) were issued. Usually, you have ten (10) days from the date on the bond paperwork. The City of Dallas Municipal Court will not have information on citations with another city or county.

 

For bond(s) paid for another city or county, keep the paperwork from the City of Dallas Municipal Court with you. If inquiring about that bond, the Court will need that to assist you. The Municipal Court does not refund money for bond(s) posted for another city or county. Any monies refunded will be by the city or county where the citation was issued.

Bonds must include:

  • Bond (for each case);

  • Must be signed by the defendant;

  • Must be notarized;

  • Name, address, and phone number of the person you are representing.
