The City of Dallas Marshal's Office performs the law enforcement responsibilities of The Municipal Court of Dallas. The Dallas Marshal's was first created in 1856. 


These responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Cash and surety bond processing for defendants currently in custody 24/7;   

  • Civil process; 

  • Execution of class C arrest warrants; 

  • Illegal dumping enforcement;  

  • Operate the City Detention Center; 

  • Provide security for Dallas Municipal Court operations; 

  • Provides housing for persons arrested for public intoxication;  

  • Serving summons and subpoenas issued by the Dallas Municipal Court;  

  • Transporting prisoners being held on the City of Dallas Class C warrants.
