Newcomers Mental Wellness Guidebook (Spanish): GUÍA DE BIENESTAR MENTAL PARA RECIÉN LLEGADOS

The purpose of the Newcomers Mental Wellness Guidebook aims to expand awareness of local mental health and behavioral health resources that provide culturally responsive services and is tailored to meet the needs of newcomers. This includes offering services in languages other than English as well as making accommodations for individuals who are low-income and/or do not have health insurance.

New Americans in Dallas: Economic Impact Report 2024

New research from the American Immigration Council highlights the key role that immigrants are playing in the City of Dallas’ workforce and as taxpayers, consumers, entrepreneurs, international students, and more. The new report, Economic Impact Report: New Americans in Dallas, was prepared in partnership with the City of Dallas, Welcoming Communities and Immigrant Affairs Division (WCIA) and uses American Community Survey data to show the demographic and economic contributions that immigrants are making across the city.  Click on the link below to access the brief:

Dallas SAFE Annual Report

Vera Institute of Justice has established the SAFE (Safety & Fairness for Everyone) Network - of which Dallas is a partner - a unique collaboration of government leaders, legal service providers, and community-based advocates to stand up and grow publicly funded, legal representation programs at state and local levels.

The Office of Equity and Inclusion has developed the City of Dallas Language Map to demonstrate the language diversity that exists locally. This tool can  help users find the concentration of and languages spoken by people within Dallas at Census tract and zip code level. Click on the link below to access this map:

Welcoming Communities: Immigrant Incorporation in Dallas, TX.

Published Policy  Report by University of Austin LBJ School of Public Affairs

Lyndon B. Johnson School (LBJ) of Public Affairs at The University of Texas at Austin school professor and leading domestic policy expert Ruth Wasem, alongside 16 graduate public policy students, worked with Dallas Welcoming Communities and Immigrant Affairs Division to assess how it compares to other major US cities on immigrant inclusion and offer policy tools to foster the incorporation of immigrants in Dallas.
