The City of Dallas Office of Emergency Management (OEM) is dedicated to service first when it comes to our residents.

OEM works before, during, and after emergencies to minimize impacts on the community. We operate in conjunction with other government agencies, the private sector, and community stakeholders to advocate for preparedness, prevention, response, recovery, and mitigation. OEM strives to build a resilient community that withstands all hazards, adapts quickly to disruptions, and rapidly resumes​ day-to-day activities.

The City of Dallas Office of Emergency Management is accredited through the Emergency Management Accreditation Program (EMAP).  EMAP is a wide-ranging and rigourous program that evaluates Emergency management programs on a federal, state, local, and institutional scale that meets stricks standards for Emergency Management Excellence.
