During extreme cold and winter storms, weather can range from icey conditions to moderate snow over a few hours that can create last several days and can be extremely dangerous. Many winter storms are accompanied by excessively low temperatures often with strong winds, icing, sleet and freezing rain​. ​ Extreme cold conditions are dangerous and can be life-threatening.
