4:00 pm | The City of Dallas is working on creating a comprehensive housing strategy. Homes, however, don’t stand alone – to be healthy, they’re part of a neighborhoods connected to a network of services and systems. The overall goal of the housing plus plan is to encourage the development of sustainable neighborhoods all over the city of Dallas.
As one of the first steps in drafting this plan, we’re hosting a workshop for the City Council to provide input on healthy neighborhoods in their districts, and examine the amenities, such as economic development, transportation, infrastructure, which enhance neighborhoods. The workshop will feature an overview of regional patterns and trends affecting housing in the region led by John Fregonese and break out work sessions/discussions with council members and a wealth of potential partner organizations. The focus will be on generating ideas for strategic programs involving partnerships that can make a difference in building and sustaining healthy Dallas neighborhoods. |
