Regular service re-started on Monday, Feb. 22, following the normal collection schedule. Please place your roll carts at your usual collection point on your designated day and leave them there until they are collected. We anticipate higher than usual volumes this week, so there may be multiple trucks in your neighborhood as we work to catch up. The “close the lid” policy is suspended next week. If you have an extra bag of garbage, place it in the cart even if the lid won’t close. If you have more, you may place up two additional bags of garbage beside the cart. No recycling material is allowed outside the blue cart.

Brush and Bulky Trash collection is also impacted. Follow your normal set out schedule, but expect collection delays.

Westmoreland Transfer Station closed today due to a burst pipe and flooding that occurred overnight.  McCommas Bluff Landfill, Bachman Transfer Station and Fair Oaks Transfer Station will be open during their normal hours.  More information here.

FRIDAY UPDATE:  Sanitation began limited garbage and recycling collections today in areas unable to be collected last week. Progress is slow due to neighborhood street and alleyway conditions.

TUESDAY UPDATE:  Collection operations will remain suspended on Wednesday due to hazardous weather and street conditions. 

We will evaluate conditions on Wednesday afternoon regarding resuming operations on Thursday.  An update will be posted here as soon as a decision is made.  When operations do resume, all resources will be dedicated to garbage pickup in missed areas. Please hold your recyclable materials until next week.

SATURDAY UPDATE:  Slick streets and frigid temperatures are slowing our progress to catch up in Thursday and Friday collection areas.  All available resources are dedicated to garbage collection at this time. Recycling collection will be further delayed. 

Weather forecasts indicate conditions will continue to deteriorate through the weekend and into next week.  Monday and Tuesday areas should expect collection delays.

Please continue to follow your normal set out schedule, and leave roll carts out until they are emptied.
