Effective October 16, 2025, the fee payment process will return to an early-fee collection approach. This will reduce the number of payment transactions and help to reduce time in the overall permitting process.
Why is the fee structure process being changed?
Prior to the launch of DallasNow, all plan review and permit fees were collected at the beginning of the process. Since the launch of our new software, fees begin being collected at three separate stages. We have received developer feedback indicating a strong preference for fewer collection points, as each payment adds additional time to the overall process. On October 16th PDD will implement a change to return to an early-fee collection approach similar to the pre-launch process, reducing the number of transactions.
What does this fee structure change mean?
This fee update will move the collection of the most the common commercial permit fees to end of the pre-screen phase, reducing the overall number of payment transactions customers will need to make during the review process.
