W. H. Adamson High School

The American Classical Revival style W. H. Adamson High School was known simply as "Oak Cliff High School" when originally built in 1915. In 1935 the school was renamed to honor W. H. Adamson who had served as Principal for 31 years until his death that same year. The building sits on top of a hill which looks to the north to downtown Dallas, and it retains its original topography which slopes slightly in all directions.
