F.A. Brown Farmstead
4611 Kelton Avenue

Believed to be the oldest, unaltered farmhouse on its original site in the city. This circa 1880 two story, five bay wood structure is uncharacteristically large and well detailed for a North Texas farmhouse of the period. It was built by Tennessee native Francis Asbury Brown, and was a working dairy farm that he and his son tended. Much of the farmland was sold after F.A.'s death in 1922. The home stayed in the family for nearly a century until 1985 when ownership was passed to the Historic Preservation League, Inc.
