400 S. Akard Street

The Federal Reserve Bank, completed in 1920, is a large limestone Beaux-arts style structure. As a result of the explosive growth that was happening in the city and the region, Dallas was chosen as one of twelve Federal Reserve Bank sites that were mandated by the Federal Reserve Act of 1913. The Federal Reserve has since relocated further north in downtown Dallas.
