Paying for Your Parking Ticket

Online:  Use the City of Dallas Parking Ticket Payment Portal (click here) to enter your information and pay your ticket(s).

You will need the following items in order to pay parking tickets online:

  • Credit card or debit card                         AND
  • Citation/Ticket number                           OR
    License plate                                                   OR
    VIN number

*Be sure to include a copy of the parking citation(s), license plate number, and/or VIN number with payment. Failure to do so may result in delayed application of payments.



Contest a Parking Ticket

Not Registered Owner
If you never owned the vehicle listed on the citation, please request a hearing or call the Customer Service Center for additional information at 1-833-773-1942.

If you no longer own the vehicle and tickets are issued after you sold it, please complete Option A, Option B or Option C (whichever applies to you):

​Option A
 Mail us a copy of the ticket or warning notice, and a copy of the Bill of Sale.
​Option B 
 Mail a copy of the ticket or warning notice, and a copy of Transfer Letter from the Texas Department of Transportation.​

​Option C

​Upload a copy of the ticket or warning notice, a copy of the Bill of Sale or Transfer Letter from the Texas Department of Transportation via the online portal.

 Hearing and Appeal Process
Court and Detention Services operates the Adjudication Office, which offers administrative hearings to citizens wanting to contest civil parking citations and whose vehicles have been booted. Please go to their Parking Citations page for more information about this process.  


Parking Ticket Refunds

Refunds for parking ticket fines take approximately 30 business days. To inquire about a possible refund on your parking ticket fine or a delay on receiving your refund on your parking ticket fine (not the filing fee); please call 214-948-5346 Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Items required for a refund on your parking ticket fine (not the filing fee):

  • A copy of your hearing or court dismissal record
  • Proof of ticket payment (register receipt, online payment receipt, bank statement or credit card invoice with personal information marked out, etc).


Booted, Towed or Impounded Vehicles

Vehicles on the Public Right of Way

Vehicles found in the City's public right of way with outstanding parking violations are subject to being immobilized. Any vehicle parked on the street for longer than 24-hours, causing a traffic safety hazard or booted for unpaid parking fines are subject to being towed and impounded at the City Auto Pound without notice.

Dallas Parking Management and Enforcement is located at the Oak Cliff Municipal Center at 320 E. Jefferson Blvd, Room 212, Dallas, TX 75203. Please have the license plate for the vehicle available.

 

Vehicles on Privately Owned Public Access Fee Based Lots and Garages

Texas state legislation authorizes public access parking lots and garages that charge a fee to issue a citation or boot a vehicle for non-payment. To make payment arrangements and/or have the boot removed, contact the parking company using the information provided at the location.

If you feel your vehicle was wrongfully booted or cited and would like to file a formal complaint Boot or Tow dispute contact 3-1-1 to start a "Paid Lot/Garage Wrongful Booting/Citation Incident" investigation with City's Transportation Regulation Division. Private parking lot owners are allowed to place boots on patron's vehicles for non-payment. Contact the parking company to have the boot removed.

Boot Removal

 How to remove a boot from your vehicle once your citation has been paid.

 At this time, payment can only be accepted by mail or in person. Please see top of page for directions. 

Once paid in person , the cashier will  call parking dispatch to have them dispatch a parking officer to the location to remove the boot.

Towed Vehicles - If your vehicle was towed for outstanding parking tickets, the vehicle will not be released until the following items are paid:

  • outstanding parking tickets
  • boot release fee
  • wrecker fee (call Dallas Police Autopound at 214-670-5116)
  • vehicle storage fee (call Dallas Police Autopound at 214-670-5116)
