Dallas Bikeway System

The Dallas Bikeway System is currently governed by the 2011 Dallas Bike Plan. The Dallas Bike Plan is currently undergoing an update to build upon the existing bikeway framework to grow a comfortable, safe, and connected bicycle network that serves the different types of bicyclists in Dallas.  For more information on the Dallas Bike Plan update process, please see the Dallas Bike Plan homepage.

Dallas was certified as a Bronze-Level Bicycle Friendly Community on January 28, 2025 by the League of American Bicyclists. This certification represents a commitment from the City of Dallas, local bicycling advocates, and bicycling ride groups to improve bicycling conditions for all people who bike through investments in bike infrastructure, bike education programs, regular bike events that promote and encourage people to choose biking, and pro-bike policies. For more information and to view Dallas's report card, see Dallas Bicycle Friendly Community.

2011 Dallas Bike Plan:
The 2011 Dallas Bike Plan is a community–driven planning effort that was adopted by the Dallas City Council on June 8, 2011 to update the 1985 Dallas Bike Plan. The Plan uses an innovative implementation strategy and recommendations for complimentary policies and programs, including a network of on-street and off-street bicycle routes.
