Scope and Content
Collection documents closure of Citizens Sewerage Company and a transfer of 6.5 shares of stock from Citizens Sewerage Company to Oak Cliff Sewerage Company.
Citizens Sewerage Company was first petitioned in by the citizens of Oak Cliff in July 1901. The ordinance for the company passed October 26, 1902. The original franchise was for 25 years. The Oak Cliff City Council also passed a supplemental ordinance defining the rates charged by Citizens Sewerage Company.
In February 1903, the Citizens Sewerage Company deeded all its interests, rights, and title to the City of Oak Cliff Sewerage Company. Later in 1903, the City of Dallas annexed the City of Oak Cliff.
