Scope and Content
Collection contains a plan for the Cityplace Area related to retail, housing, and office development.
City Council created the Cityplace Board which, in turn, produced the Cityplace Area
Tax Increment Financing Districts (TIF) District Project and Financing Plan. The project plan highlights programming related to
| • accelerating retail, housing, and office development
|
| • providing an eight-year, $23.4 million public improvements program
|
| • sustaining a twenty-year, estimated $360 million private development program
|
| • instituting new annual real estate tax revenues
|
The purpose of TIFs is to augment the tax base by pledging future real property taxes generated by accelerated new development to fund public infrastructure improvements which make the development and new resulting taxes possible.
