Scope and Content
Collection documents the City of Dallas' investigation of concerns about the stabilization or dilution of natural gas supplied to the citizens of Dallas through the Dallas Gas Company. The concern was that the gas was not adequate for Dallas, and the report includes the data and results of testing of the gas. The Joshua Stabilizing Plant was located at Joshua, a community South of Burleson in Johnson County.
The findings of the investigation concluded, "We find that Dallas has a dependable supply of gas of a heating value nearly fifty percent greater than its franchise requirement; that service and pressure are adequate as evidenced by our own investigations and by records of the Supervisor of Public Utilities."
