Keith M. Maddox joined the Office of the City Auditor in July 2022.  He works on various audit engagements related to the City of Dallas and assist with the training and development of staff. Prior to joining the City of Dallas, he spent over 30 years in Federal Government management and leadership supervisory and operational positions with the U.S. Navy, U.S. Postal Service regional and headquarters offices, project manager with NASA, and Regional Inspector General and Executive Officer for the U.S. Department of Education Office of Inspector General.  He was responsible for performing a wide variety of highly sensitive assignments and evaluations that impacted the implementation and development of programs and policies, with substantial responsibility related to analyzing and advising senior management on the evaluation and effectiveness of programs and operations.

In addition, he was responsible for reviewing and overseeing the development of policies, standards, systems, and procedures that ensure the total integration of program evaluation and measurement concepts and providing advice and recommendations to senior staff regarding change management, with an emphasis on creating customer focused organizations, and other issues involving business process reengineering, reorganization implementation, and communications.

Keith earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, a Bachelor of Science in Management from Birmingham-Southern College, and an Associate in Applied Science in Accounting from Jefferson State Junior College.  He has completed a number of management and leadership training classes including the prestigious Partnership For Public Service Excellence in Government Fellows Program, the Federal Executive Institute, and the American University Key Leadership Program. He is a Certified Internal Auditor and Certified Government Auditing Professional.
