Natalie A. Martinez joined the Office of the City Auditor in February 2022. Mrs. Martinez has over nine years of federal, state, and local government compliance monitoring experience; and enjoys auditing because she believes the best way to provide equitable services is through oversight and accountability. She has a diverse background in auditing which includes experience in performance improvement auditing, contractor technical assistance, vendor training, and service delivery compliance aligned with federal requirements, with additional experience in contract, grant, and fiscal compliance.

Prior to joining the Auditor's Office, Mrs. Martinez worked for the City of Denton in the Community Development Department as the Grants Program Coordinator. There she oversaw the administration and financial management of the Human Services, CBDG-CV, and ESG-CV grants. She has previously worked for Metro Dallas Homeless Alliance and as a Contract Technician with the Texas Health and Human Services Commission.

Mrs. Martinez received her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of North Texas – Dallas and her Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Texas at Arlington. She is a Certified Texas Contract Manager (CTCM) with additional certifications in Urban Non-Profit Management and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the workplace.
